The authors, each very well qualified and each with a different special interest, provide a very well balanced text. The book is divided into two parts with part 1 concerned with general considerations. There are several outstanding chapters in part 1, among them chapter 2 on "Embryology of the Heart" and chapter 9, "X-ray Examination." The roentgenogram reproductions are of excellent quality. In part 2, each of the common types of congenital heart disease is considered as a specific entity. The chapters are similar in form and begin with a historical note followed by discussion of incidence, etiologic factors, hemodynamics, clinical features, roentgenographic features, electrocardiography, differential diagnosis, prognosis, and surgery. The representative roentgenograms, electrocardiograms, and other illustrations are SN - 0002-922X M3 - doi: 10.1001/archpedi.1969.02100040938024 UR - http://dx.doi.org/10.1001/archpedi.1969.02100040938024 ER -
