TY - JOUR T1 - Newborn babies: More pain than that—reply AU - Simons SP, van Dijk M, Tibboel D Y1 - 2004/06/01 N1 - 10.1001/archpedi.158.6.600-b JO - Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine SP - 600 EP - 600 VL - 158 IS - 6 N2 - We would like to thank Dr Black for his comment on our article "Do We Still Hurt Newborn Babies? A Prospective Study of Pain and Analgesia in Neonates."1 We showed in our study that neonates experience an average of 14 painful procedures per day during neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) treatment. Consequently, during some days the number of painful procedures was lower and during other days the frequency was higher than 14 per day. The highest recorded frequency was 53 procedures during 1 day. SN - 1072-4710 M3 - doi: 10.1001/archpedi.158.6.600-b UR - http://dx.doi.org/10.1001/archpedi.158.6.600-b ER -
