Hemangioma is an all-encompassing term, while the term capillary malformation better describes one of the hallmarks of Klippel-Trénaunay syndrome. We used the term hemangioma only because of the visual appearance of the malformation in our patient,1 but reading the accurate explanation from Yan and colleagues, and in particular the classification by Mulliken et al,2- 3 we have become aware of our inaccuracy. We therefore thank Yan and colleagues and agree with them that the term capillary malformation should be used in the future to define the cutaneous feature of Klippel-Trénaunay syndrome.
