Sanford.The formation of standard regulations for all nurseries for the newborn in Chicago was undertaken by the joint committee in 1935. These were put into operation in 1937. There has been a steady decrease in the mortality of the newborn in Chicago since that time. Inasmuch as these regulations were formulated ten years ago, some changes are no doubt necessary. They will be undertaken by the joint committee in the near future.
