TY - JOUR T1 - ACrodinia infantil. Y1 - 1949/04/01 N1 - 10.1001/archpedi.1949.02030040561021 JO - American Journal of Diseases of Children SP - 549 EP - 549 VL - 77 IS - 4 N2 - This monograph on the subject of infantile acrodynia at the outset gives the various names that have been applied to this condition in different countries. The authors use the term infantile to distinguish this type from that seen in an epidemic described by Chardon in Paris in 1827. The epidemic type affected adults and produced an erythema on the palms and the soles. Garrahan and Sampayo go back into the history of the disease, taking up the etiologic factors, the symptoms, the pathologic changes and the treatment. They cover every phase of treatment that has ever been recommended. Nothing new is offered but practically everything written on the disease since it was first described, down to the present, is reviewed, and a complete bibliography is given. Anyone interested in this subject, who can read Spanish, will find the subject well covered in this monograph.
