In the preface, mention is made that the book is bulkier by inclusion of new sections on typhus, infectious mononucleosis, brucellosis, influenza and epidemic encephalitis, as well as "notes" on sore throat and food poisoning. Nevertheless, there is nothing burdensome about the additions. The color plates referred to as an innovation are always of particular interest to the student, and the author should be proud of his work as an artist in producing them.The first four chapters or "sections" concern the general features of infection, epidemiology and associated topics and examination and treatment of patients with fevers.
