N2  - This book was written with the stated purpose of presenting new, or little known, facts concerning tuberculosis of bone. A large amount of material covering all phases of skeletal tuberculosis was studied in preparation of the treatise.The book is subject to criticism for several reasons. First, the proof obviously was not carefully edited, for there are numerous misspelled words and typographic errors throughout the text. For example, on page 42 there are three misspelled words in lines 6 and 7. Second, although there are a few new ideas presented, the entire work is written in a terminology which is unfamiliar to the medical profession of this country. Terms, such as parallergic, hyperergy, anergic, anergy, paraspecific, local bud, partial local bud and general bud, are frequently used in a manner confusing to the ordinary student of the subject.
