His theme deals with the epidemiology, the social and medical causes, the morbidity, the mortality, the prophylaxis and the social and economic significance of diseases of children up to the school age.The book is divided into three parts. In the first chapter the author discusses the diseases of the new-born infant. Here he considers prematurity, intracranial hemorrhages, congenital deformities, congenital syphilis, acute infections and stillbirth. He sums up this chapter with his own opinion of the prevention of these diseases in the new-born infant. The second and third chapters deal with the same subject matter in the nursling and in the child of preschool SN - 0096-8994 M3 - doi: 10.1001/archpedi.1929.01930060228025 UR - http://dx.doi.org/10.1001/archpedi.1929.01930060228025 ER -
