N2  - This study consisted in the examination of the stools of 595 individuals in seven institutions. The ages of the inmates varied from three months to eighteen years and included institutions in which there were both males and females.The method of examination was as follows: The stools were secured at the various institutions and placed in pill boxes, and each box was labeled with the name of the individual from whom it was obtained. The stool was thoroughly macerated in distilled water and filtered through several thicknesses of gauze. The filtrate was then placed in a centrifuge with a velocity of 1,500 revolutions per minute for from ten to twelve seconds, after which the supernatant fluid was discarded, the residue again thoroughly mixed with distilled water and again centrifuged for a like period.
