AB In this book "for medical students and physicians involved in the care of infants, children, and adolescents," Dr Bellet describes his diagnostic approach to the common signs and symptoms confronting the practitioner. His approach is logical and the format is consistent. Seventy-six signs and symptoms were selected and make up the individual chapters. Each chapter begins with a definition of the condition, which is followed by the diagnostic possibilities. Each differential diagnosis is then briefly discussed and, finally, an outline of a diagnostic approach is offered. Each chapter concludes with a bibliography.The major strength of this book is that it is a good resource on pediatric differential diagnosis for the nonseasoned clinician. It is not meant to be a single reference source or a comprehensive text. The book is singled authored, but still is somewhat uneven in that some chapters are stronger than others. I didn't find any major
