Walker et al1 described this occurring in malnourished aboriginal children in northern Australia. The picture was of vomiting with abdominal distension and visible peristalsis. The diagnosis was made by finding numerous larvae in the gastric aspirate or feces. Their conditions responded rapidly, following administration of thiabendazole.
