The purpose is to provide specialized dietary guidelines for the nutrition of pediatric patients, birth to 19 years old. The author has included and collated a great deal of material in this small volume, material that is especially applicable to infants and children in the hospital. It apparently was developed as a dietary guideline for the Texas Childrens Hospital in Houston.The tables in the book are excellent and are useful to everyone. The infant formula section is complete and up to date. It is helpful to have this information available in one place for ready use by those who prescribe infant formulas for special gastrointestinal diseases of children.
