Volume 6 (Biliary Atresia and Choledochal Cyst) included important articles from Japanese sources, in English, that are otherwise unavailable to the American reader. Volume 10 addressed a topic of increasing interest, "Long-Term Surgical Results in Children." This current volume will be of interest to pediatric surgeons, gastroenterologists, and perhaps, a medical historian or two.Judging this book by its title may lead to dismay. The volume contains 15 articles on a variety of topics, but less than one third of the space is devoted to ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. That section consists of contributions to a surgical symposium held in 1976 in Austria; it will probably be of less interest to the reader than the other sections, which include
