At once it is clear that this complete treatise on pediatric cardiology has a favorable balance. As indicated in the preface, this work was "edited in the true sense of the word" so that the multi-authored book has a "certain uniformity of style, while at the same time leaving each chapter with an individual flavor." This was accomplished by time "spent putting American, European and sometimes even English English into Scottish English."
