In an attempt to determine which of these abnormalities are related to the abnormality in carbohydrate metabolism alone and which are related to the other complications of prolonged diabetes mellitus, the incidence of these problems in infants of gestational diabetic mothers17-19 has been studied.The purpose of this paper is to describe the clinical course and laboratory findings in infants of gestational diabetic mothers (IGDM) who have been cared for in the neonatal unit of the University of
