Rather, my point was that because we do not have outcome data on various toilet-training strategies, the primary care physicians who choose to address these issues have no choice but to base their recommendations, as Dr Schor stated, on "anecdotes and personal observations." My plea was for more legitimate scientific inquiry on a topic that primary care physicians are asked about on probably a daily basis.
