The textbook is divided into the traditional major sections. In the first section, the biochemical basis of nutritional science is discussed as well as concepts such as community nutrition and international nutrition. This first general concept section may be somewhat detailed for those who wish for only a quick review. However, in-depth biochemical discussion is required for the student who needs to know the biochemical basis of, for example, the vitamin A visual cycle.
