In our review, 8 of the 14 trials were limited to infants younger than 1 year (5 of 7 inpatient trials and 3 of 6 outpatient studies [patient status was unknown in 1 of the trials]). The trials that included children 2 years and younger were older (the median year of the publications was 1996) than the trials that restricted participants to infants younger than 1 year (the median year of the publications was 2000).
