RT Journal A1 Grewal S, Ali S T1 HYpertonic saline in the treatment of acute bronchiolitis in the emergency department—reply JF Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine JO Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine YR 2010 FD April 1 VO 164 IS 4 SP 395 OP 397 DO 10.1001/archpediatrics.2010.38 UL http://dx.doi.org/10.1001/archpediatrics.2010.38 AB We thank Horner et al and Mandelberg and Amirav for their responses to our article on hypertonic saline in the treatment of bronchiolitis in the ED. Ours was the first study of hypertonic saline in bronchiolitis within the ED setting.1 The purpose of our study was to determine if hypertonic saline had an immediate effect on patients' clinical status during their ED visit, hence our choice of 2 hours as a study period and up to 2 doses of hypertonic saline as the number of study doses.
