RT Journal A1 Nakamura S, Wind M, Danello M T1 SUdden infant death syndrome and co-sleeping JF Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine JO Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine YR 2000 FD May 1 VO 154 IS 5 SP 529 OP 530 DO UL http://dx.doi.org/ AB Rosenberg states that the conclusion in our article1 that placing children younger than 2 years to sleep in adult beds exposes them to potentially fatal hazards " . . . bears on the question of whether co-sleeping causes increased risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS)." The possible relationship of co-sleeping and SIDS is outside the stated scope of this study. The study deals only with infant deaths associated with entrapment in adult bed structures or deaths owing to overlying in adult beds. Reported SIDS cases, those identified as "possible" SIDS cases, and even "possible" overlay cases, were specifically excluded from consideration.
