RT Journal A1 Lane PA, Nyquist A, O'Meara O, Quinones RR, Thilo EH T1 DOes information collected during the residency match process predict clinical performance? JF Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine JO Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine YR 2001 FD March 1 VO 155 IS 3 SP 420 OP 421 DO 10.1001/archpedi.155.3.417 UL http://dx.doi.org/10.1001/archpedi.155.3.417 AB Borowitz et al1 examined the relationship between medical school performance, judged by a pediatric intern selection committee, and clinical performance during residency. The relative and absolute rank number of pediatric residents correlated poorly with faculty-rated clinical performance. While we suspect that an analysis of our program would yield similar results, we suggest that some of the article's conclusions may be overstated and caution that the data do not indicate that the resident matching process is seriously flawed or a waste of time.
