AB This interesting little book is published by the Revista Española de Pediatria and is intended to give the prospective student or practitioner who wishes to specialize in pediatrics a general idea of the subject. This volume includes a history of pediatrics in Europe and the Americas, a review of the general scope of the subject, the reasons for a separate specialty and the methods of teaching it, with advice to the student.Although written in Spanish, it is readable and would be invaluable for anyone wishing to study abroad, particularly in Spain, as well as of considerable historical interest. The photographs are of prominent children's hospitals and pediatricians.
