    International Congress on Rheumatic Diseases.—The current interest in arthritis and the other rheumatic diseases received additional impetus when several hundred physicians from the United States and foreign countries gathered at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, New York, for the seventh International Congress on Rheumatic Diseases, from May 30 to June 3, 1949. This congress was sponsored and supported by several organizations, including the American Rheumatism Association, the United States Public Health Service and the Arthritis and Rheumatism Foundation, the last being established in 1948.A number of official delegates were appointed. Dr. W. S. C. Copeman, of London, England, who also spoke at the congress on Thursday, June 2, on fibrositis, was the delegate from Great Britain. Dr. Fernando H.
