AB This volume was written by the director of a Viennese clinic. I have no means of knowing how far the content was influenced by the date of publication. As the book stands, the omissions are striking. For instance, it is startling to find no mention of Freud or any of his followers. It is almost equally astonishing to find no discussion of intelligence tests. Possibly because information from these two sources was deemed irrelevant, the author includes a list of drugs which he has found useful against neuroses. This book is worth having only if one is interested in the influence of political pressures on scientists.
