AB Recidivating measles is rare. Loos,1 Panum,2 Salzmann3 and Widowitz4 failed to observe it in over 9,000 cases of measles, and Kleinschmidt,5 Friedjung,6 Stolte,7 Lichtenstein8 and others with vast experience among patients with measles observed not a single case. However, up to 1894 Maiselis9 collected from the literature 103 instances of a second and 3 of a third attack. Of Ryhiner's10 series of 2,000 cases there were repeated attacks in 2. According to Salzmann's review, of 4,206 cases of measles reported by various authors 200 were instances of repeated attack. Le Bourdellès11 called attention to 40 per cent recidivation of measles in an army camp. But many of these reports are inaccurate and thus unreliable. Undoubted instances of repeated attacks of measles have been described by Wolff,12 Glanzmann,13 Golberger,14 Erdheim,15 de Rudder,16 Ryhiner and others.
