AB The first part of the book has to do with foods used in infant feeding. Considerable space is given to all types of patent foods, and while this is excellent for reference, one feels that their importance is overemphasized. The discussion of practical considerations in breast feeding is excellent. In the chapter dealing with the modification of cows' milk, the physiology of digestion is touched on in relation to the different elements of cows' milk. Suggested menus for the feeding of older children are given.The last part of the book discusses vomiting, diarrhea and constipation, the atrophic and the premature infant and diets to be used in different diseases of infancy and childhood. Although this book is full of practical suggestions, rather too little attention is paid to physiology and physiologic pathology to make it of great value to the medical student.
