AB This is the second edition of this book which was first published in 1913. The first edition was edited by Garrod, Batten and Thursfield. The general arrangement and phraseology of the first edition has been adhered to. The articles are written by thirty-seven different contributors, but the general style is the same. The subject is well covered, and the style is lucid and readable. The book is well printed, and the illustrations are well chosen.
