AB This textbook has been written for the maternity and child welfare worker. The first fifty-five pages of the book are devoted to the administrative and general purpose of welfare and maternity care. The second section of the book deals with the essentials of infant feeding and child care. The last part concisely discusses the problems arising in the care of the ailing child. This should be an excellent book for nurses and for welfare workers, as the average publication is either too elementary or too advanced to meet their requirements. The function of the worker in this field is the teaching of hygiene and the early detection and prevention of disease. This book gives a concise and readable discussion of these matters.
