A healthy boy was born via a normal spontaneous vaginal delivery to a primigravida, gravida 1, para 2, 28-year-old Latin American woman after 40 weeks 4 days of gestation. His Apgar score at 1 and 5 minutes was 8 and 9, respectively. His physical measurements were as follows: weight, 3755 g (90th percentile); length, 52 cm (85th percentile); head circumference, 34.5 cm (60th percentile); and chest circumference, 34 cm. Cutaneous examination was remarkable for two polypoid lesions anterior to the left ear (Fig 1). At age 8 weeks, he was seen for evaluation and treatment of the preauricular taglike lesions. Complete examination demonstrated no other cutaneous or systemic abnormalities. After administering local anesthesia to the area with 1% lidocaine hydrochloride with 1:100000 epinephrine, the skin lesions were excised. Hemostasis was achieved with a solution of 20% wt/vol of aluminum chloride in anhydrous ethyl alcohol (Drysol, Person & Covey, Glendale, Calif).
