The fourth edition of Moss' Heart Disease in Infants, Children, and Adolescents is an impressive new textbook, weighing almost 2 lb more than its predecessor. This work is timely since the past few years have been a time of significant advances in pediatric cardiology that make certain sections of the third edition out of date. The goal of the new edition was to revise and update areas of 2-dimensional echocardiography, Doppler echocardiography, cardiac catheterization, and surgery and incorporate topics in the expanding fields of therapeutic cardiac catheterization, fetal echocardiography, and heart and heart/lung transplantation.
The book is well organized, and in spite of contributions from a large number of experts in the field (a few of whom appear for the first time) it is well written and cohesive, with little redundancy.
