ABSTRACT

Major advances in the understanding and care of children with urologic problems have been made in the last decade, and pediatric urology has firmly established itself as a definitive specialty. This outstanding text includes 27 chapters by recognized authorities from around the world in pediatric urology and associated fields. The chapters are superbly referenced, and the chapters and references are timely and up-to-date.

The chapters dealing with the radiologic aspects of pediatric urology are superbly well written. The chapter on "Pediatric Uroradiology" by Ben-Ami and Lebowitz is very complete and up-to-date. In addition to techniques, the authors describe the advantages and disadvantages as well as indications for various contrast studies. The chapter on "Ultrasonography of the Urinary Tract in Pediatric Urology" by Moreau, Garel, and Sambourg is a concise review of those areas of pediatric urology that have been greatly aided by ultrasonography.
