Sir.—I am unaware of the anomaly of a girl having more than one large lip of the vulva on the same side of her body, as in "left labia majora." I think the authors1 wanted to use the singular form of this Latin noun and adjective, "labium majus."

From the same ancient language, the correct spelling of the title of the consul of Rome is Caesar. Although medical dictionaries disagree, it seems proper that the name of the surgical operation to remove an infant from the uterus should only be spelled this way.

Perhaps AJDC will start a small compaign in defense of Latin.
