ABSTRACT

In this issue we are inaugurating a new format for our previously designated department letters to the editor. The new department will be entitled the pediatric forum and will be moved from the rear of the Journal to the beginning. The change in title and position is meant to be substantive and not cosmetic. In the past year our readership has responded to the Editor's request for comment, opinion, and dissent on topical issues that either were evoked by a piece in the Journal or involved issues that were current in the care of children. With this sustained interest and response, we felt that it was timely to publish these comments, in addition to those that refer strictly to the original articles published in AJDC, in a fashion that emphasized their nature and importance.
