This book contains contributions from 23 persons, all experienced leaders in pediatric ultrasonography. Introductory chapters on the pediatric surgeon's and the pediatric urologist's points of view help provide orientation on the uses of this modality in their fields.
The book proceeds to cover rapidly, though superficially, the many problems in the pediatric age group to which ultrasound is addressed. Clinical discussions of each problem as well as explanation of the images increase the value of the book.
The references are complete and up to date. For the most part the images are of good quality. The ultrasound images are often correlated with roentgenograms.
I enjoyed reading the book. It is useful as a guide for those who do not routinely use pediatric ultrasound as well as those who depend on it as an aid in diagnosis—pediatricians, pediatric surgeons, and pediatric urologists.
