Intensive Course in Pediatric Nutrition.—This course will be held March 28 through April 1, 1977. The curriculum covers growth and functional development of the gastrointestinal tract as it relates to digestion and metabolism of protein, fat, and carbohydrate. Discussions of vitamins and minerals, iron-deficiency anemia, renal solute load in human health, and disease are included. The course also covers infant formulas and strained and junior foods, common nutritional problems of childhood, inborn errors, feeding the physically handicapped child, nutritional management during chronic disease, and possible later consequences of malnutrition during early childhood.
