Hepatic herniation through a Morgagni foramen defect was diagnosed as a cardiac tumor, suggested initially by angiocardiography. Subsequent selective hepatic arteriography and isotopic scintiphotography established the correct preoperative diagnosis. When visceral herniation through a Morgagni defect does not include gas-filled bowel, preoperative diagnosis requires isotopic or arteriographic studies of the liver.
