This is the second volume of a two-volume series on respiratory disorders in children. The series comprises an expanded second edition of Disorders of the Respiratory Tract in Children; volume 1 concerns lower respiratory tract disease and this, volume 2, is devoted to upper respiratory tract conditions, primarily otolaryngological. It is intended as a text for pediatricians and otolaryngologists, both in training and in practice, and for medical students.
There are three initial chapters concerning otolaryngological anesthesia, genetics, and radiology that are excellent, although the chapter on radiology contains eponymous terms for various views that are meaningless to most nonradiologists.
The remainder of the book comprises some 50 chapters concerning specific conditions grouped by anatomic site (larynx, ears, mouth, etc). Many of the groupings include excellent embryological descriptions.
