This is the sixth edition of an excellent clinical text started by George Clinton Andrews. The current author, Anthony N. Domonkos, of Columbia, need not worry about this edition.
The pediatrician has an excellent reference work even with only a single paragraph on Dermatoses of Newborn. There are important sections on Regional Predilection and Type of Eruption. This helps the pediatrician considerably in his review of an unknown dermatosis. A chapter on Dermatologic Immunology presents current information on the essential aspects of immunology for the practitioner. Current data is available such as retinoic acid for acne and the stages of congenital syphilis. As usual in this series, the quality of the black-and-white photographs is excellent.
This book, then, can be used to complement the sections on pediatric dermatology of the current textbooks on pediatrics.
