The story of multiple sclerosis (MS) is brought up to date in this little book of about 65 pages of charts and text. The bibliography is comprehensive and includes 316 references. Emphasis is placed on epidemiologic studies and particularly those of northern Ireland where MS is common. The area is considered high risk for multiple sclerosis.
Chapter 1 is devoted to diagnosis and discusses the differential possibilities. No mention is made of elevated antibody titers to measles virus in patients with MS. This finding has been confirmed in many laboratories including the virus laboratory in Queen's University in Belfast (reference 76).
