Dr. William B. Weil, Jr., Gainesville, Fla: One area that hasn't been touched on directly, but which has plagued me recently, is the definition of the goals that we are attempting to achieve by undertaking programs of comprehensive, continuous, and competent community care.
It is predictable that over the next five to 15 years many changes will take place in communities and many changes in the form of practice will occur. If these do take place, we must examine the goals we are striving to attain from new exposures and experiences that hopefully will carry the student, then the physician, on to performing even more fruitfully as a physician in the changing environment he will then meet.
