The 11th edition of the well-known nursing textbook, formerly titled Zabriskie's Obstetrics for Nursing, is an excellent revision of maternity nursing concepts and familycentered maternity care. The text has been vastly rewritten and reorganized. The factual information is up-dated, and the results of recent studies have been included in the contents. Maternity care is presented as the combined effort of expectant parents, physicians, nurses, and other members of the health team. Throughout the book, this reviewer was impressed with the emphasis on the patient as an individual and as a member of a family unit.
