Dr. Winter, who has made many outstanding contributions to the field of renal vascular disease and hypertension, has made another excellent contribution by writing this book. It presents clearly and concisely the theoretical and practical aspects of renal vascular hypertension, including surgical and medical management. Current methods in diagnosis, including radioisotope renograms, aortography, and differential renal function studies, are covered in detail. In addition, the author has included a chapter on the prognosis and long-term management of renal hypertension, in which he describes his point method of predicting the results of surgery.
Many illustrations and an extensive bibliography add greatly to the value of the book. It should be of great interest to the pediatric scientist and the pediatrician in training.
