This book is an effort on the part of the faculty of the University of Tennessee Medical School to "combine brevity and clarity with a proper degree of comprehensiveness." The 20 contributors display thorough knowledge of their respective fields with a commendable degree of common sense, and their product is well edited by Dr. Hughes, an outstanding pediatric professor, clinician, and editor.
The reviewer used this book as a quick reference for several weeks and found the commoner problems of pediatric practice well covered and even some of the rarer entities represented. It is not a comprehensive reference book, nor was it intended as such, but contains a wealth of information and review material that would help anyone concerned with the medical care of children.
