The post of Chief Editor of this journal has been filled by A. Ashley Weech, MD, Emeritus Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Cincinnati, beginning with this issue. Although the announcement of this appointment was made several weeks ago in the national press, it seemed wise to postpone the announcement in the Journal until after the Weech Festschrift volume appeared last month. In searching for appropriate remarks about Ashley Weech, I reviewed the galleys of the curriculum vitae and the warm comments of appreciation by Rustin McIntosh in the previous issue. It was apparent that a handsome portion of what might be said regarding Ashley's professional and academic accomplishments and outstanding personal characteristics were identified and documented. Little remains for a subsequent accolade.

As he is a dedicated teacher of pediatrics, it was not surprising but reassuring, nevertheless, to learn of Ashley's receptive attitude when the opportunity for this
