The table of contents indicates the encyclopedic intent, listing various topics under the major subheadings : The Child, His Growth and Development ; Parents and Their Development ; Basic Methods and Techniques of Child Care ; Feeding, Nutrition and Growth ; Elimination ; Sleep Behavior; Social and Emotional Adjustment; Developmental Problems.
Unfortunately, there is in many sections inadequate development of the subject matter. Many readers will find the discussion superficial and will need to turn to the references for further elaboration.
