Haematology and Blood Groups.

This volume is made up of 14 concise summary articles on selected topics in hematology and a like number about blood groups. The authors represent the cream of British workers in these fields. When published in 1959, as 2 issues of the British Medical Bulletin, the material was fresh and authoritative. Undoubtedly, they were republished in book form because they were found to fill a unique need for a review of "what's new" in these fields. The review is still authoritative and, in those topics which have not advanced rapidly in the intervening 2 years, reasonably up-to-date. One has only to survey the material here, however, to realize how rapid has been our progress. The presentation of certain subjects such as the composition of the hemoglobins and the reactions of antiglobulin serum has been almost revolutionized in the past 2 years.
