This book presents, basically, the proceedings of the conference on clinical aspects and diagnostic problems of toxoplasmosis in pediatrics, which was held as a part of the 8th International Congress of Pediatrics in Copenhagen, in 1956. These papers were revised and brought up to date as of 1959 and include, in addition, a few articles by persons not listed as conference participants.
The book is a compilation of 21 independent articles on the subject. Consequently, there is considerable overlapping and duplication in the presentation of historical data, clinical descriptions, and laboratory interpretations. The neglect of pathological aspects of the disease is, in my opinion (as a pediatric pathologist), a fault. Nevertheless, the book represents a very useful compilation of current knowledge and opinion on various aspects of the disease.
