ABSTRACT

As the editor notes, "This monograph is designed to provide a concise review of current pediatric subjects for the busy physician who does not have time to read extensively in a wide variety of the specialty fields." Each of the contributors (all of whom are drawn from the University of Cincinnati faculty) has abided by the editor's intention while intertwining abstracts of the recent pediatric literature. Its 9 chapters are arranged along conventional broad subject headings permitting prompt pinpointing of material for those who choose to ignore its excellent index. (Scattered entries in boldface type make this particularly useful.) As a matter of fact, the final "package" resembles a modern movie starlet—attractive from almost any point of view! Its cover is soft; its paper, sturdy of body with a flawless white complexion. Its contents require no imagination to be visualized clearly.
