Treatment of Tinea Capitis in Children with Griseofulvin FREE

An institution in our state is devoted entirely to the care of children with potential tuberculosis and to the after-care of those with arrested tuberculosis. The patients are boys and girls of all races and creeds, ranging in age from 2 to 12 years. The average census is 175 and at times it may be 200 or higher. Children are admitted for three months, and in most cases this period is renewed for an additional three months. Youngsters remain until they can be returned to their own families or to foster homes.

Every child is examined thoroughly on admission and discharge, and whenever necessary during his stay at the institution. Roentgenographic examination to rule out activation of tuberculosis is carried out frequently. The active medical staff consists of three pediatricians, a psychiatrist, and a dentist; other specialists are consulted as needed. A 15-bed infirmary is maintained for the isolation of
