Ours is an age of haste. Yet ours is also the age of science—exploding with new facts, data, and ideas. No one is more aware of the ensuing conflict than the physician in practice. A chronic deficiency of time characterizes his life, impedes his effectiveness, compromises his ideals. In particular, trying to "keep up" with the booming medical literature—doubling in volume approximately every 15 years—magnifies his frustration! Worse yet is trying to recall the "What, When, and Where" of an important reference. Few have ready access to extensive reference sources. Many plan to maintain a personal reference file of important articles; unfortunately, few succeed. Yet, to practice "up-to-date" medicine one needs an up-to-date listing of pertinent reference—be they texts or periodicals.
Such a listing has been compiled under the editorship of Paul J. Sanazaro, M.D.; it is published by the Lange Medical Publications, an explorer of new techniques in medical
